Building STEPS' First-Generation College Celebration

Building STEPS propels Baltimore’s high achieving students to college and career success. Students are accepted from 15 partner high schools and begin programing in 11th grade. Eighty-seven percent of participating students identify as first-generation college students.

As a result of progressive programming that includes STEM exposure and immersion, college access and persistence workshops and ongoing support, nearly 80% of Building STEPS graduates earn a college degree.

 

 

2019 First-Generation College Celebration

For its inaugural First-Generation College Celebration, Building STEPS is hosting a FirstGen Happy Hour on November 8 at R. House, located in Baltimore, Maryland. Alumni, over 85% of whom identify as first-gen, have been invited to attend as well as friends and stakeholders. R. House is graciously donating 10% of all special cocktail proceeds to Building STEPS.
