2019 First-Generation College Celebration
The University of South Carolina−Columbia plans to celebrate this year for a full week leading up to First-Generation College Student Celebration Day on November 8. The week will consist of events every day from Mon, November 4 - Friday, November 8. For more information check out this website, available until November 11.
Included on the webiste is a social media toolkit which is right below the First-Generation Student Celebration menu item on the left-hand side of the page. This will also be available until November 11. Feel free to access and utilize the downloadable images for the First-Gen Week at UofSC. There is also a photo frame where students, faculty, and staff will be able to get a selfie!

2018 First-Generation College Celebration
The University of South Carolina−Columbia will have a Celebration Table outside of the University Student Union from 12 PM-2 PM. The celebration will include first-gen buttons, cupcakes, the mascot, as well as a photo booth frame and props for the students to take pictures.
Additionally, there will be a First-Generation Faculty & Staff Panel from 5 PM-6 PM, where faculty & staff will share their experiences with first-generation students. Following the panel, there will be a short reception to thank the panelists for serving and for students to ask individual questions.
Recently, the University of South Carolina−Columbia created a First-Generation Initiatives Working Group, made up of faculty and staff from several offices across campus to collaborate and plan initiatives for first-generation students.
