2020 First-Generation College Celebration
This year, Utah Valley University (UVU) is again inviting students to share their stories through a Photo Voice Contest, allowing for visual stories of their experience as first-generation students. We will also host a panel of first-generation faculty and our university president sharing their stories as first-generation students and then allowing for Q&A time. Other events include free professional head shot photos, a trivia game night, and a social media takeover by the Career Development Center.
2019 First-Generation College Celebration
For the 2019 first-generation college celebration at Utah Valley University (UVU), we hosted an art wall that allowed students to share their "six-word story" as it relates to them being first-generation students. UVU also provided free tickets to a men's basketball game that included vouchers for a meal during the game.
