Bill Barker
Strategy and Communications Manager, Center for First-generation Student Success, NASPA
Bill Barker serves as Strategy and Communications Manager with the Center for First-generation Student Success, an initiative of NASPA—Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and The Suder Foundation.
Bill’s twenty years of experience in communications and marketing, development, alumni and media relations, and messaging is grounded across in higher education. Prior to joining NASPA, he held roles at the University of Iowa, University of Michigan-Flint, and Advocates for Youth, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization.
A graduate of the College of Wooster, Bill now resides in Indiana with his wife, Tess, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Indiana University Kokomo, and his daughter, Izzy.
