Robert C. McGowan

Robert McGowan joined the Center for First-generation Student Success in March 2020 from The University of Scranton where he served as program coordinator with the THR1VE program, an initiative designed to celebrate and support first-generation college students by increasing visibility and access to existing resources, streamlining support programming, and creating new support offerings. His primary responsibility was collaborating with key campus stakeholders to build a robust network of resources easing the transition to and through first-generation student college experience while influencing student satisfaction and retention rates.
A proud first-generation college graduate, Robert earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and philosophy from The University of Scranton. In his free time, Robert serves on the Young Alumni Advisory Council (YAAC) for Alpha Sigma Nu, the honor society of Jesuit colleges and universities.
