Online education has become a staple of many universities. Although online education presents great possibilities, the field must consider the implications of online education for students who identify as first-generation college students as they inherently have a unique relationship with higher education. This chapter provides insight on the experiences of first-generation college students and offers a call to action for instructors as online education becomes a new standard.
