2020 First-Generation College Celebration
Boston College will hold its annual BC F1RST-GEN Week Kick-Off on Sunday, November 8th, a grab-and-go brunch on Monday, November 9th, a first-gen faculty panel on Tuesday, November 10th, "Why I'm First" on Wednesday, November 11th, the F1RST-GEN Week Alumni Panel on Thursday, November 12th, and a preparing for graduate school panel and paint night party on Friday the 13th! There is something for everyone, so don't you dare miss it!
2019 First-Generation College Celebration
Learning to Learn, the Boston College home to first-generation students, and the Boston College Alumni Association came together on November 7, 2019 to celebrate our first-generation students and first-generation alumni. The event featured several prominent first-generation alumni and students, most notably Arivee Vargas Rozier-Byrd (MCAS 2005, Law, 2008), the head of the global assurance program (auditing, monitoring, investigations, and risk assessments) and anti-corruption/anti-bribery program in the Office of Business Integrity and Ethics, at Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated. Beyond highlighting prominent alumni, this event recognized the accomplishments of first-generation students and all they do to achieve excellence at Boston College.
