2022 First-Generation College Celebration
Cal State Fullerton will celebrate their second annual First-Gen Student Week! The week begins with a kickoff event on Monday with a community resource fair, free lunch from Habit Grill for students, and free first-gen shirt for students The campus wide celebration includes workshops, mixers, and engagement opportunities for students, staff, and faculty. A listing of programs will continue to be updated here.
2021 First-Generation College Celebration
CSUF's 2021 campus wide week long First-Generation College Celebration will include: a kickoff event on Nov. 8th with giveaways for students, a session on learning more about CSUF first-gen students, a first-gen student panel, FAFSA/CDA and financial aid sessions, a session on "Teaching First-Generation College Students Across Cultural Strengths," navigating CSUF as a first-gen, first-gen Latinx graduate student panel, as well as an opportunity for a first-gen faculty and staff group picture. Additional programs and events will continue to be added to the website.
2020 First-Generation College Celebration
The 2020 celebration similarly originated in SSS but was open to non SSS students and included: a session on grad school, career planning session, get out the vote session, grad school panel, financial aid session, life planning, cultural capital session, and a group paint night (all virtual events).
2019 First-Generation College Celebration
CSUF's 2019 first-generation college celebration originated in the Student Success Services (SSS) office. The events were organized for SSS students. The week long celebration included a coffee day where students could pick up their first-gen button, movie night, bowling & pizza, and a resource fair.
