Sac State's First Gen Institute "First, But Not Alone" lunch welcomes Alum and Council woman Stephanie Nguyen.

"First, But Not Alone" showcases powerful narratives of students, staff, faculty and administrators' success and challenges from the past, present and future in the context of their identity as first-generation students to first-generation professionals. The compilation of personal stories serves as a reminder of the shared experiences and tapestry of the Hornet Family. California State University, Sacramento\ encourages students, faculty, staff and community members to participate broadly in activities across our campus in honor of the nationwide celebration “Celebrating Being First” First-Generation College Celebration on November 8, 2018.

Highlights of the daylong event:

9 am- 3 pm: First-Generation Student Resource Fair featuring first generation student support services. (In Front of Lassen Hall)

10-11 am: First-Gen & Fruit Breakfast Reception (Lassen Hall 2205)

11 am-12 pm: First-Gen Photo Booth (Lassen Hall 1010)

12-1 pm: Teaching First-Gen Students Brown Bag (for Faculty) (Center for Teaching & Learning, AIRC 3005)

1-2 pm: First-Generation Graduate Student Panel (Multi-Cultural Center, Library 1010)

2-3 pm: First-Generation Culminating Reception (Valley Suite, Univ. Union)
