2019 First-Generation College Celebration

On November 8, 2019, Hofstra University is planning to repeat last year's celebration but, this time, take over the entire Student Center. The celebration will include more student support offices and clubs that will be focusing on how they benefit first-generation students on campus. There will be first-gen swag, photo opportunities, as well as a social media take over of the Division of Student Affairs social media accounts.

They also plan to capture testimonial videos from attendees to use in promotional videos throughout the year. 

 

 

2018 First-Generation College Celebration

On November 8, 2018, Hofstra University planned to take over the atrium in the Student Center, which is the highest traffic area on campus. The celebration included giving away brand new, limited edition t-shirts, first-gen swag, photo opportunities, a video booth where community members reflected on their first-gen experience, as well as a social media take over of the Division of Student Affairs social media accounts.

They partnered with the Residential Housing Association, who also gave away jointly-branded swag created specifically for this event.
