2021 First-Generation College Celebration
This year we have five events planned and will present at the Texas Tech University first-generation conference on November 12th. Events: On November 2nd we will have a First-Gen College Celebration Kickoff, on November 3rd a paint and sip, November 4th Coffee and Pastries for first-gen staff and faculty, on November 8th we will have information and free Nachos on the dining hall lawn, and November 9th a Table Talk on First-Gen Assessment and Program Evaluation by one of our first-gen faculty members.
2020 First-Generation College Celebration
The kick-off celebration is Monday, November 9th with a photo booth, swag, and information for first-generation students and supporters. There will be a poster exhibit that consists of photos and bios of first-generation students, staff, and faculty displayed in the Setzer Student Center. Through out the entire month we will recognize first-generation all-stars for their campus and community service on our social media outlets. There will be a panel discussion for students, staff, and faculty and an additional one for staff and faculty. Our first-generation students and student leaders were instrumental in organizing shuttle rides to the polls along with the Student Government Association.
