Notre Dame of Maryland University's First-Generation College Celebration
November 8
2019 First-Generation College Celebration
After celebrating for the first time in 2018, the Notre Dame of Maryland Trailblazers Program will host a chat and chew session for first-generation students, staff and faculty to meet each other.
Later that afternoon, the program will host its annual first-generation faculty and staff panel and t-shirt day. The panel allows students to ask questions of first-gen faculty and staff about their personal and academic journey. Both events will have opportunities for first-generation students to share their personal accomplishments as well as pick up new Trailblazers swag. November 8 is when all Trailblazers wear their shirts on campus in unison. It is clear the impact these students make on campus and how they contribute to the community is displayed.
2018 First-Generation College Celebration
Notre Dame of Maryland University invited first-generation faculty and staff to share their experience with students during a luncheon on-campus. Students were eager to connect and listen about the experiences. First-generation students were also able to sign posters and display their accomplishments.
