2022 First-Generation College Celebration
We will be hosting our annual first-gen celebration dinner on Monday, November 7 at 6pm. The event will gather over a hundred students, faculty, and staff for an event that will feature student testimony, a special guest speaker and comments by the university's president.
2020 First-Generation College Celebration
In 2020, the CCE will host its second Annual Take Flight Celebration with a dinner on November 9, from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. This hybrid (in-person and virtual) event will feature presentations from three freshmen and one sophomore in the Take Flight program, as well as remarks of the university's Vice-President for Student Affairs and the Campus Chaplain. A Take Flight video, featuring students in the freshman cohort, will also be previewed for the first time.
2019 First-Generation College Celebration
In 2019, the Center for Cultural Engagement launched the Take Flight program. Through their participation in Take Flight, first-generation students are able to navigate their time at The Catholic University of America with confidence and ease. In 2019, Take Flight hosted a luncheon attended by students, staff, faculty, and the university's president.
