2020 First-Generation College Celebration

The University of Alabama's Office of First Generation Scholarship Programs, in conjunction with the How to College: First Gen Podcast, is hosting a First-Generation College Celebration Virtual Panel Discussion on November 10, 2020 at 6:00 pm. Panelists, including the How to College Podcast hosts and University of Alabama first-generation faculty member Dr. Suzanne Prevost, dean of the Capstone College of Nursing, will talk about their journeys as first-generation college students, share insight and lessons learned along the way, and give participants actionable advice on navigating higher education as a first-generation college student. The panel discussion will be followed by breakout sessions on topics including Career Development, Financial Aid and Planning, Graduate School, and Social Well-Being & the first-generation experience.
