2021 First-Generation College Celebration

The celebration will be held in honor of national first gen week. It will be kicked off on the beginning of the week with a first-gen student brunch where all first-gen students are invited with their families to have a catered breakfast and hear from keynote speakers and alumnni from local universities about the first-gen experience. This will give parents a chance to be involved in their student's achievements and celebrate them. The remainder of the week will be spirit-week style where students will be entered into drawings to win prizes that will help them transition to college (dorm decor, new sheets, dishes, hangers, containers, school spirit items) in exchange for participating in sharing what it means to them to be first-gen.
