2023 First-Generation College Celebration

Charlotte will celebrate First-Generation Niners by hosting its second annual First-Generation Celebration Week (FGCW) November 6-10th (iamfirst.charlotte.edu)! The week will kick off with a gallery exhibit featuring research from Dr. Lorenzo Hopper showcasing First-Generation students' experiences through photovoice. The week will also host First-Generation photos and a food truck as a passive activity on Tuesday. On November 8th, celebrations will be in full swing with the First-Generation Cookout featuring a cookout-style lunch, DJ, and swag. The week will end with its second bi-annual First-Generation Graduation Celebration to celebrate and showcase the achievements of Fall First-Generation graduating Niners.
