2020 First-Generation College Celebration
Due to state and local restrictions resulting from COVID-19, this year West Chester Univeristy concentrated our National First-Generation College Celebration Day efforts on social media. We were excited that posts celebrating our first-gen students were viewed 19,200 times and received 870 "likes." Our West Chester's First Instagram sticker was viewed 3,380 times, the Snapchat lens was utilized 82 times, and we also developed several West Chester's First Zoom backgrounds for students, faculty, and staff to use throughout the week. In addition, 14 first-gen related stores were published to WCU's Instagram and Facebook accounts, which were viewed 2,700 times.
2019 First-Generation College Celebration
On Friday, November 8, West Chester University will be celebrating our first-gen population (about 30% of current WCU students!) with events including a resource fair and group photo, freebies, resources, and more.
