Today’s students’ outcomes in higher education are shaped by many factors, including race. Black, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, and Pacific Islander students are still underrepresented in higher education. The Equity Now Toolkit examines policy solutions that aim to create an equitable and inclusive system of higher learning, such as:
rethinking financial aid to serve today’s students better;
investing in institutions that have primarily served students of color and supported their success;
improving and protecting data to advance racial equity; and
modernizing the Pell Grant with a focus on racial equity.
The TSC is deeply committed to working with policymakers on both sides of the aisle to enact change for the benefit of today’s students.
