2019 First-Generation College Celebration

For the 2019 celebration, the plan is to use the momentum gained from last year and continue to expand the reach within the Oxy community, particularly collaborating with more departments and key partners. Several ideas include a first-gen mixer with students and alumni, as well as expanding on the first-gen fair, by inviting departments and programs on campus to connect with first gen students so they can utilize vital support and services on campus.

2018 First-Generation College Celebration

Last year Upward Bound & First Gen Club organized three events, a film screening, first generation panel, and a first generation fair. All events included participants from the Oxy community, Administrators, Students, Faculty, and staff. Panel participants included faculty members, deans from campus, and Oxy alumni.
