North Carolina State University's First-Generation College Celebration
November 8
2017 First-Generation College Celebration
First in the Pack, NC State's university-wide initiative geared toward supporting first-generation college students, invited students to come leave their mark and celebrate the legacy first-generation students make on our campus! On November 8, 2017, in honor of the national First-Generation College Celebration, all NC State first-generation college students were invited to participate in painting a mural on the Free Expression Tunnel.
The Free Expression Tunnel on NC State's campus is an iconic tribute to the First Amendment, and is one of nine university-chosen Hallowed Places, a group of irreplaceable locations on campus with special meaning.
Giveaways and paint supplies were also provided at this drop-in event. The event was sponsored jointly by New Student Programs and TRIO Programs.
