2018 First-Generation College Celebration

For 2018, Portland State University will for the first time undertake a celebration of our first-generation students through Diversity and Multicultural Student Services. Diversity and Multicultural Student Services primarily offers support to first-generation, and/or low income, and/or students of color. We have created signs for offices to post in the front office windows that states "First Generation students supported here" and include the DMSS logo as a partner. Staff and faculty are welcome to also display the sign in their offices.

The plan is to send the signs out along with the Center's website, including other resources as examples of how to support first-generation students. The focus this year is to built community. It is our hope that next year, we host a campus-wide celebration!
