2018 First-Generation College Celebration

Stanford University is taking a collaborative approach to #CelebrateFirstGen. These events are coordinated by BEAM, Stanford Career Education, First Generation and/or Low Income (FLI) Office, Leland Scholars Program, Stanford Alumni Association & Undergraduate Advising and Research; and co-sponsored by First Generation and Low Income Partnership (FLIP), Graduate FLIP, Diversity and Inclusion in Sociology, and Stanford Law School First Generation Professionals.

 

 

 

Here is a list of the daily events and activities!

FLI Graduate Student Breakfast | 9 a.m. | BEAM Student Lounge

The professional and graduate FLI student groups will be connecting with one another over breakfast to discuss collaborative professional development workshops for the year. Breakfast will be provided.

FLI Coffee Connections | 9-5 p.m. | BEAM 3rd Floor

Share a cup of coffee or tea with FLI alumni who are coming to campus to meet with students to provide assistance with your career development. This can include resume reviews, cover letter critiques, informational interviews, and gaining industry insights. RSVP for a time slot.

FLI Mixer | 12:30 p.m. | Old Union 200

FLI faculty, staff, alumni, and students are all invited to celebrate the FLI identity. Food will be provided. Be sure to wear your FLI at Stanford t-shirt which you can pick-up on November 2nd at Old Union 200. A group FLI photo will be taken at 1:10 p.m.

FLI Reflections and Refreshments | 6 p.m. | Old Union 200

Faculty, staff, alumni, and students are all invited to attend a networking session to connect with one another. This time will be spent thinking about where we have been, where we are now, and where we would like to be. Light appetizers and refreshments will be provided.
